Online Coupons: The Mighty Kyle Doesn’t Strike Out
This is the second in our series of guest posts from Kyle over at Rather-Be-Shopping.com. Thanks Kyle for helping me and my readers out with finding great online discounts!
Springtime and baseball go hand in hand in our house! So it just makes sense that I am coaching my 6 year-old son’s T-ball team this year. We are the famed Angels and having a great time. I have a bunch of great kids, and just as important, great parents! All coaches reading this know what I am talking about.
Baseball gear can get pricey though, especially if you are looking to buy enough stuff so your child can practice in the backyard. For my son, that means a hitting Tee, baseball, glove, and bat. To buy all of those things at full price would cost around $70, which is ridiculous. Especially since kids will outgrow everything except the ball within 2 years. In keeping with Ryan’s ‘Hunting For Discounts’ series I have documented some solid ways to score some great deals and avoid paying full price on baseball stuff and other sporting goods.
~ eBay - Buy used sporting goods on eBay whenever possible. I bought a used baseball bat for my son this way and saved at least $10. Make sure you see pictures of what you are buying to verify the condition.
~ Discount Stores - If you have a TJ Maxx, Ross, or Marshalls in your town, check them out for sporting goods. They may not have a huge selection, but I have been able to find some great deals this way. Also, they typically follow the season with baseball gear in the Spring and soccer and basketball stuff in the Fall.
~ Play-It-Again Sports - This store is a national chain where you can sell the sporting goods you don’t want and buy used stuff that you need. I like it better than buying on eBay because you get a much better idea of the condition of the item, plus you don’t have to pay shipping costs.
What tips did I miss? Let me know how you save money on sporting goods! I also have some online coupons for a number of sporting goods retailer that could be useful as well. Here they are:
