March 6, 2009 Link Payday
Welcome to our Link Payday, the it’s freaking cold for Hawai’i edition! I know those of you who live in many other areas are laughing but when we get into the high 50s here, it’s long sleeve weather. So as I slow down on my workout routine (it ain’t all that fun to be doing a run when you’re shivering), let’s look at some of the best posts around the personal finance blogosphere these past couple of weeks:
My buddy Kyle over at Rather-Be-Shopping tells us 5 Things I Have Learned About Blogging. I wish I had read this before I started blogging! I think I can add some things to this list after all this time, though…
Mrs. Micah concludes her Where Did My Money Go Month with The End of Where’s My Money Going Month. She had a great success by coming in $250 under budget! Way to go, Mrs. M.
Her Every Cent Counts found 5 Free Food Offers in the Bad Economy. I’m not sure how many of these are still valid at this point, but it’s against my religion to turn down free food!
Lynnae at Being Frugal discusses Real Value vs. Perceived Value. I have some brand name only friends who will pay way more for something they can get a less expensive substitute for. Is it worth it? I have my doubts.
And finally, Frugal Dad answers the question Should I Pay Off My Mortgage? It’s always worth looking at–with our refinance almost done, though, I don’t have much of a reason to pay that thing off early at all!
And that’s your Link Payday for March 6, 2009!
