Time is a Great Equalizer

I sit here in the office of my job well after the time I’m done for the day, waiting for the coworker whom I bring to and take home from work four days a week. She has a family to meet with that can’t until 5 pm–such is the career of a social worker.

While I’m waiting, I could be doing nothing, or maybe watching yet another Kamen Rider video (these have become my largest time wasters). But instead, I am using the time to compose another blog entry, because I actually have the time to do it.

One of the things about time is that we all have the same amount of it–24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The question is really what we do with it. Instead of time management, maybe it needs to be called me management, because that’s what I’m doing–managing me and my behavior. So instead of goofing off, I’m blogging, I’m working on my taxes, and I’m doing stuff for my part time job while I wait.

It’s more true than I care to think: time is really what you make it.
