February 7, 2009 Link Payday
Welcome to your Link Payday for February 57, 2009, the two days late edition! I’ve behind on some of my blog reading recently which is the major reason why this installment is delayed. But better late than never, I think, so let’s get on to some of the best blog posts of the last couple of weeks:
Very short, but more important as an announcement than anything else–the 43 Folders podcast with Merlin Mann is back after a two year hiatus! If you are interested in productivity and all things GTD, you may want to check this out.
My buddy Kyle over at Rather-Be-Shopping has a piece on something basic but incredibly important as he covers How To Find The Real Price Of Things. As a guy who spent five minutes getting per ounce prices on Diet Pepsi in Safeway this past week with all of their different packages (12 packs of 12 ounce cans, 2 liter bottles, etc.), I can understand how daunting this task can sometimes be!
Ron over at The Wisdom Journal tackles an interesting subject when he asks So You Think You Can Write? This article covers a great number of paid writing possibilities all over the Internet. This is great for anyone who thinks they can make a few dollars putting words on virtual paper.
Frugal Dad looks at how credit card companies are dealing with the financial crisis when he discovers how Credit Cards Turn To Behavioral Analysis To Manage Risk. In it he cites a story stating that by shopping somewhere other customers (not you!) have shopped at and had difficulty paying their bill, credit card companies sometimes lower your credit limit! Amazing and sickening!
Finally, I’d like to recognize a post that’s a little older but really needs a little highlighting: the always great JLP at All Financial Matters finds that The Economy Stinks and Yet (More) People are Playing the Lottery! Yes, this is crazy, but I think we’d all be crazy to not believe it.
And that’s your Link Payday for February 7, 2009!
