January 20, 2009 Link Payday
Welcome to your Link Payday for January 20, 2009–the nearly birthday edition! Yes, it’s just a day before I turn 294 in social work years, so help me celebrate by checking out some of these great posts from all over the personal finance blogosphere over the last few weeks:
I’ve already praised it, but All Financial Matters‘ fantastic post telling us to STICK TO YOUR GUNS, PEOPLE! deserves another mention. Let’s not panic because of a sinking market. Remember everything that’s happened in the past and how everything moves in cycles.
Ron over at The Wisdom Journal again teaches us from his own experience when he discusses 20 Things I’ve Learned While Getting Out of Debt. Maybe these lessons won’t have to be learned the hard way by others!
Kyle over at Rather Be Shopping looks at alternatives to your landline when he questions Phone Bill? Who Needs It! As some of these options are very technological-well, they all are–I find them very interesting. I will admit that for my podcast, I do indeed use Skype.
Mrs. Micah examines one of my personal finance habits when she lists Pros and Cons of Tracking Your Spending Manually. She agrees with me that manual is still the best but she does say that it’s not easy to do. I agree with that part too (looking at a bunch of receipts in my wallet).
Finally, Lynnae at Being Frugal gives us a primer on what many consider a necessity of personal finance in her article How to Start Being Frugal. Thanks for a great help for the beginners out there!
And that’s your January 20, 2009 Link Payday!
