Barclay’s Closed my MasterCard
One of the credit cards I have is a Barclay’s MasterCard; I almost never use it. The only reasons I’ve kept it the last few years have been because (for some not really explained or understoodstandable reason) closing it could hurt my credit score and there are, very occasionally, times when there is a discount on something that requires purchase with a MasterCard.
I was surprised to receive a letter yesterday from Barclay’s that due to inactivity, they were closing my account!
Being in the middle of refinancing a mortgage, this is concerning (although I just received my credit scores the other day; two were over 800 and one over 775, so they’re in great shape). In any case, I just fired off a letter to Barclay’s asking them to reconsider.
