Mint’s New Thing

I confessed a few posts back that I keep track of a lot of my finances on paper. While this shocks some people, I have my reasons. However, I know a lot of people want to use Web based or other electronic tools to deal with their finances.

One of the more popular ways to manage your finances electronically has been the Mint.com Web site. While it has its fans and detractors, it’s certainly become a popular way of keeping track of your money.

Now, Mint has an iPhone application. It’s free and apparently pretty popular–it already has 120 customer reviews on the iTunes App Store and has an average rating of four out of five stars. I’m downloading it to my iPod touch as we speak; while I’m still not convinced I’ll actually use it versus my long established composition book (for reasons of inertia if nothing else), but I’m certainly willing to give it a shot. Let’s see how well this works; look for a review in a few weeks.
