Down to the Wire
I typically don’t put holiday shopping off until this late, but combining my two jobs, this blog, the marathon, and the financial pinch that the truck incident caused me to put off shopping (at least a lot of it) until a lot later than usual. As I write this, I am planning on finishing things off tonight (December 18, 2008)–a week before the big day.
Why tonight? Partially because time is an issue, partially because I’m off from my part time job, and partially because I just had my Discover Card bill close for the month, which allows me to put off coming up with the actual cash for these last few purchases–one of which is pretty large–until February.
I am also waiting on shipment of a few things from Amazon.com. These are expected to show up on the 22nd–just before the deadline! Fortunately these are all for people on island.
I’m hoping if nothing else I can avoid the rush this last weekend before the holiday (and to make things even more fun I’m on call next week and working on Christmas Day). Hoping all is well with you and yours and you are not as down to the wire as I am.
