More Randy Pausch: the Audiobook Version of The Last Lecture
I’ve been both inspired, saddened, and taught many lessons by the late Randy Pausch. Several months ago I requested the audiobook version of The Last Lecture from the library; it just showed up on Wednesday.
This is not intended to be a review, but I will say that I like the audiobook a lot. It’s four CDs worth of the same Pausch that became an Internet sensation; there is considerable overlap with both of his Internet-popularized videos, but it also gives a large amount of back story to the presentations, his life as a whole, and his beliefs.
Two words that totally stuck out: “Work hard.”
While Pausch’s work doesn’t directly relate to personal finance (for example, I appreciate his views on preparedness, but I struggle with the concept of having $200 cash on myself at all times), his lessons on time management, efficiency, effectiveness, goals, and dreams are invaluable. If you like the videos, you’ll love the audiobook, and if you like the audiobook, you’ll love the lectures. This is one set of CDs I’ll be purchasing.

I’ve been very demotivated lately due to my job situation. Perhaps this is something I should get to jump start my motivation. Thanks for the suggestion.
