How Much More Are Things in an Airport?
I just returned today from KansasFest and I’m pretty beat (no sleep last night since we had to leave at 4 am to make the airport in time for my flight), so I’ll leave you with a pretty quick one, to be followed by (I think) my last frugal traveling post tomorrow:
Price of a 12 ounce can of soda the last time I purchased some from Costco: $0.275 (including 6 cent recycling fees, 5 cents of which is refundable).
Price of a 12 ounce can of soda in the Honolulu International Airport: $1.25.
That’s correct, we’re talking almost six times as much.
It’s not the case for everything, but be aware: “list price” at the airport (magazines, for instance) are about the best deal you’ll get there.
