July 6, 2008 Link Payday
Welcome to your (again) belated Link Payday for July 6, 2008. We’re coming off a big holiday here in the United States (and Canada had one too a few days before!), so I took a few days off from work in order to… blog more, and work on a bunch of projects, many of them of the Geek variety.
Trent over at The Simple Dollar gives a modern and practical example of an age old principle: You Can’t Buy Love. It’s one of the few things in life you can’t buy, but yes, it’s true–it’s not something that any amount of money can purchase–and sometimes, money can even get in the way of it.
Ashley over at Wide Open Wallet has a great idea about how to share coupons that you won’t use in The Gift of Coupons. I haven’t done this myself, but I’m thinking about how I can! I usually am pretty selfish with coupons myself (although I will share them with people who ask), but other commonly will send me coupons they know I might make use of!
Can I Get Rich on a Salary blogs about some of the dangers of credit cards in The PLASTIC Made Me Do It! As I’ve discussed very recently, I don’t consider credit cards evil, but they’re like a sharp knife: they can do great work or great damage, depending on how they’re used. Be careful!
JD over at Get Rich Slowly lets the Geek part of me overlap with the frugal part of me by giving a quick tutorial on how to Subscribe to Craigslist Search Results to Grab Great Deals. I never knew you could do this before! So now I’m subscribed to a local Craigslist search for “D40″ in their photo section (meaning the Nikon D40 I’ve been wanting for a long time), “road” in their bicycle section, and the whole feed for the computers section. I haven’t bought anything since, but at least I’m up to date when looking for a fantastic deal.
Finally, Mrs. Micah considers how to classify income from blogging when she asks Is Blogging Passive Income? I wish blogging was passive income for me; right now I’m actively spending lots of (very fun) hours each week blogging!
