Online Coupons: Gas Prices Forcing Shoppers Online?

How has the price of gas changed your shopping habits? Everyday I get at least one e-mail from a shopper looking for a free shipping coupon they can apply to their online order. It doesn’t matter what they are shopping for, could be a big appliance or a tiny of piece of jewelry for their wife, they are looking to get it delivered to their home for free. It’s almost as if they feel they are sticking it to the big oil companies by getting free shipping on their purchases. I’m much obliged to help them out!
Who can blame them? Gas hit $4.50 a gallon here in northern California this week, and it does not look like it will be coming down any time soon. I know that my wife and I now make sure to combine trips as much as possible and my big truck has not left our garage in over a week! Also, these days I always look to buy online first. Just yesterday, I was able to buy diapers for our baby at Diapers.com, use a $10 off coupon, and get free shipping because I spent over $49. Subtract the savings in gas by not having to drive to the store to buy diapers and it definitely sweetens the deal and makes it a no-brainier!
