May 5, 2008 Link Payday

Welcome to your Link Payday for May 5, 2008. It’s getting hotter and hotter here in the islands and I’m doing more outside, getting my bicycle and running training in gear. I can’t look at myself in the early evenings without thinking I’m pretty sunburnt. It’s also the last day (I hope) before my new MacBook (which replaces my dropped iBook) shows up; this blog got a lot harder to do without a ‘Book.

All Financial Matters
poses a quick multiple choice question to test your stock market temperment and see if you might have what it takes to work for Warren Buffett and Berkshire Hathaway–I answered c, but I guess the best answer was d, even though the behavior ends up largely the same!

Frugal Dad weighs in on a classic question: Should I Stop 401(k) Contributions to Pay off Debt? There’s pros and cons on each side, and it can be difficult to determine which side will work best for you.

Lynnae of Being Frugal preaches the Wisdom of Generations Past and suggests people spend time meeting and learning from senior citizens. I couldn’t agree more.

The Frugal Duchess goes over Nine Ways to Teach Kids About Money. I can tell you from the parenting classes I teach that parents are woefully prepared to address this subject, both for themselves and with their kids!

Finally, Tricia over at Blogging Away Debt talks about the Best $30 I’ve Spent in a Long Time, which emphasizes that there really are some things more important than money.

And that’s your Link Payday for May 5, 2008! Hopefully your next Link Payday comes from a new MacBook!
