Sunday Serenity
It’s a relatively quiet Sunday here at the intergalactic headquarters of Uncommon Cents, which is essentially anywhere I have my trusty but long in the tooth iBook G4 and Internet access. My mom is still fighting off a cold she and my niece have been trading between each other; I’ve managed to remain unscathed this go round, and I need to, since I begin a nine day stretch of work tomorrow. I was able to get a 25 mile bike ride in this morning after yesterday’s horrendous multiple flat ride and did some price shopping for bicycle stuff online and in person which will become part of a future blog post. I’m also working on some code and planning a new podcast realized many of you may not be familiar with my other projects, mostly centering around the preservation and continued development of the venerable Apple II series of computers. My software site (Ryan’s Apple Software) is going to start featuring a bit of code blogging (which may be the most boring thing ever) and my podcast (A2Unplugged) is just starting up again after a hiatus due to equipment issues.
We’re more than halfway through March already. While it’s been largely a forgettable investing year so far, I can say that the time and energy invested in Uncommon Cents has been paying off. Readership continues to climb slowly but steadily and blog income continues to increase, so thank you out there for supporting the blog!
I thought I would take a couple of minutes to mention a new resource on the Web brought to you courtesy of Mrs. Micah. The FinWikian is a Wiki (being from Hawai’i, I can tell you that “wikiwiki” literally means fast or quick) dedicated to all things personal finance. I’m hoping to contribute a little, although when my schedule will allow for such a thing I have no idea. However, I have given the wonderful Mrs. M permission to go ahead and use any of the Working Backwards articles if she needs material for definitions of common financial terms.
I also thought I would remind you that I still have Virtual Bank and ING Direct referrals available which will get you a few more bucks (and me as well). Use the contact form to reach me if you’re interested and thanks to those who have already taken advantage of them!

Which I certainly hope to take you up on. Like you, I also sometimes have trouble finding the time.
